Common topics
Getting started
Point Torika at your manga folder and let it scan. It indexes CBZ, CBR, CB7, PDF, and EPUB files automatically — no manual importing needed.
Importing books
Drag a folder or individual files onto the Torika window, or use File → Add to Library. Torika adds them to your library without moving the originals.
Metadata matching
Select one or more series and choose Library → Match Metadata. Torika queries MangaBaka and fills in titles, authors, cover art, and synopsis automatically.
OPDS server setup
Go to Settings → Servers and paste in your Kavita or Komga OPDS URL. Torika connects and merges remote books with your local library in one unified view.
Reader issues
If pages appear blurry, out of order, or the reader is slow, try right-clicking the book and choosing Reindex. For CBR files, make sure the archive isn't password-protected.
MyAnimeList sync
Add your MAL client credentials in Settings → Accounts. Torika syncs reading progress automatically whenever you finish a chapter or mark a series complete.
Quick answers
The FAQ section on the homepage covers the most common questions — file format support, OPDS compatibility, metadata sources, and more. Worth a look before writing in.
Troubleshooting tips
- Library not updating? Try File → Rescan Library. If a folder was moved or renamed outside of Torika, it needs to be re-added.
- Metadata match returned wrong results? You can manually edit any field — right-click a series and choose Edit Metadata.
- OPDS server won't connect? Double-check the URL ends in
/opdsand that your server is reachable from your Mac (try it in Safari first). - App won't open after an update? Move Torika to Trash, re-download from the App Store, and your library data will be preserved (it lives in your macOS app container, not inside the app bundle).
- Crash on launch? Email us the crash log — you can find it in Console.app under Crash Reports → Torika.
